Frances Otwell was Jacob's second wife. They married 21 Dec 1843 in Chambers Co., AL. They only had one son Benjamin Franklin Beck. I have not been able to find his first wifes name who was born in NC. Frances (Fannie) was born in SC. I got a lot of info from Audrey, Lowell Blackburn, and Troy Gresham. I have quite a bit of information on all of Jacob's children that I know about. Alexander is the oldest that I know of. I am beginning to suspect that there may have been at least one older child. If you will contact me direct perhaps we can exchange more information than is practical on this forum. John Beck

Jacob Franklin Beck according to census records was born about 1802 in NC. He migrated to Troup Co., GA - Chambers Co., AL - Marshall, TX - Nacogdoches, TX, and finally spent some of his last years in Pilot Point, TX He is buried in Pine Grove Cem. at Trawick, Nacogdoches, TX. It is possible that he may have made another stop between NC and GA. I'll be glad to share what I have. I have not been able to find the name of his parents or his first wife. John Beck

    3. Juanetta, Searched the 1870 Census of Nacogdoches County without finding Margues T. Armstrong. Neither could I find the individual in a search of the state of Texas. There were Armstrongs residing in the county of Nacogdoches, however, so perhaps this information might be of value. These found in District 1 were: Dwelling No. 420: John G. Armstrong, White Male, Farmer, age 64, born in Tennessee Vernetta Armstrong, White Female, age 68, born in South Carolina Sary J. Armstrong, White Female, age 40, born in Alabama (insane) Dwelling No. 110: Susan Armstrong, White Female, age 13, born in Louisiana, living with the family of Physician George S. Hyde, White Male, age 59, born in Tennessee. Joseph Armstrong, Colored Male, age 12, born in Texas, also living with the family of Dr. George S. Hyde. As you probably know already in the U.S. Census of 1860, Margues T. Armstrong, White Male, age 17, born in Texas was residing in the household of James H. Armstrong, White Male, age 43, Farmer, born in South Carolina. Others in the household were Jane E. Armstrong, White Female, age 39, Housekeeper, born in Alabama; Samuel W., age 22, born in Alabama; Frances C., age 15, born in Texas as are the remainder of the family; David M., age 12; Robert E., age 9; Fanny M., age 7; Harvey W., age 5; Elizabeth J., age 3; John N., age 1. Their dwelling was #591, in Beat #4 of Nacogdoches County. Hope that this helps, Bill Carr Colonial Beach, VA ----- Original Message ----- From: "Juanetta Powers" <mollie@gtec.com> To: <TXNACOGD-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, August 12, 2004 3:50 AM Subject: [TXNAC] Armstrongs in Nacogdoches > Hi All, > > I haven't had any emails from this group recently and I am looking for Marques T. Stephens, b. 4 Dec 1883; d. 2 Feb 1938; buried: Isbell Chapel Cemetery, Rusk Co. TX; md. (1) Ola Boyett and md (2) Lillah L. Vardeman. Marion Whitfield Stephens is on the 1890 Tax List, Nacogdoches Co. TX., & at this time, would be md. to spouse (2) Myrta "Mertie" Eliza (Lawson) Stephens.
