Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/kkB.2ACE/587.2 Message Board Post: This is just a guess. but I think it might need looking into. Icey and David Burrows appear on page 27 of Carolyn Ericson's 1900 Census. On page 25, there is an M. H. Henderson with wife Amelia, both born in Alabama. Icey shows that she was born in AL and both parents were born in AL. She was born in Nov 1883. M. H. and Amelia had been married for 20 years and had 6 children living. Only 5 were listed on the 1900 census. The oldest was 14. Icey was listed as age 16 on the 1900 census so she would fit into the family as 2 years older than the oldest child listed. The M. H . Henderson family lived 2 doors away from a widow head of the family, Mary J. Burrows with children Elmer and Constance. She was the widow of Elijah M. Burrows. Elijah was a brother of William Muckleroy Burrows, both sons of David Burrows and Elizabeth Beatrice King.

    3. What stores were open in Garrison, Nacogdoches County, Texas about 1880-1900? I was informed awhile back that my ancestor Norris D. Ray Sr. owned a store in Garrison. I never knew that. On one census he is reported a printer and another census reports him a painter. There's just one letter difference between those two occupations. Could be a transcription error? Thank you, Priscilla Have a nice day! Priscilla

They were married in 1852 In Newton Co., Mississippi. Susan Matilda died in 1883 in Nacogdoches. Second wife was Mary Katherine Hodges b. 5 June 1866 Nassau Co., Florida. They had a son named William Henry Moore born 15 Feb 1888 Nacogdoches, died 15 Feb 1961. But I don't have anything further about Susan Alice b. 3 Nov 1859 in Nacogdoches. V Lynch Shaw Hello, In Carolyn Reeves Ericson, compiler, "Nacogdoches -- Gateway to Texas Volume I: 1779-1849 (Revised Edition); A Biographical Directory" (Nacogdoches, Texas: Ericson Books, 1991) the following references are found: Linch, Moses - 1837 tax list. Lynch M. - 1840 tax list. Lynch, Stephen - Character Certificate 1835, widower with family; resident since 1835. Power-of-attorney 3 January 1828. Mexican Land Grant 15 December 1835 - 1 League and 1 Labor, location unknown. No entries for Linch/Lynch were found in volume II. Volume III also has 2 entries for Lynch. I have not asked permission to do lookups in volume III as it is a very new release. It is available in many libraries with Texas genealogy collections and from <http://www.ericsonbooks.com> on CD or in print. The entries above are good clues to finding the original records. Many of these records are available via inter-library loan from the ETRC [East Texas Research Center] at SFASU, Nacogdoches http://libweb.sfasu.edu/etrc/etrchome.htm Good luck with your research. I hope this helps. -- Regards, Debbie --- Debbie Parker Wayne <genealogy@etxquest.com> Nacogdoches TXGenWeb Project http://www.rootsweb.com/~txnacogd/
