    3. I have Birdwell's mixed in with my Rawlinson's and would like to kow anything I can find out about the Rawlinson connection. My late husband's mother was Allie Rawlinson, daughter of Henry Edgar Rawlinson and Dora Lowry. My mother-in-law married T. S. Hinton in Cherokee County. Anyone with information on this Rawlinson line, please send me what you have. I am most appreciative. Thank you. 3. Evelyn, From the STOCKMAN genealogy report previously on the interned (has now been removed) I have the following relative to your questions: James Claiborne Norris(Mary Sarah STOCKMAN,Frederick, Johann Engleberth STOCKMAN, Johannes Peter2, Johannes Peter1) was born November 07, 1829 in Nacogdoches, TX, and died January 19, 1914 in Coleman, TX. He married (1) Virginia M. THOMAS. He married (2) Margaret Ann AMASON 1858. ISSUE: i. John NORRIS, b. 1859, TX ii. Mary Jane NORRIS, b. October 23, 1850, Nacogdoches, TX; d. January 15, 1914. iii. Julia Ann NORRIS, b. 1861, TX; m. (1) W. A. McCULLON; m. (2) John LYNN; m. (3) George SCHOOLCRAFT. My own connection with this line is: Catherine NORRIS (Mary Sarah STOCKMAN, Fredrick, Johann Engleberth STOCKMAN, Johannes Peter 2, Johannes Peter 1) was born March 19, 1831 in Nacogdoches, TX., and died December 6, 1916 in Travis, TX. She married Thomas PULLEN (Often spelled PULLIN) April 28, 1853 in Nacogdoches, TX. ISSUE: Arabella O. PULLEN (PULLIN), b. July 13, 1853, TX; d. January 29, 1929, Gregg TX; m. Thomas J. HUMPHREYS. ** Sarah Ann PULLEN (PULLIN), b. 1856, TX Thomas PULLEN (PULLIN), b. 1858, Jerusha PULLEN (PULLIN), b. November 10, 1859, TX; d. February 23, 1863, TX. Milton PULLEN (PULLIN), b. 1863 John PULLEN (PULLIN), b. 1868 L.M. PULLEN (PULLIN),** b. 1871;m. Fadius(AKA Thaddeus Dawsey) KIMBROUGH 22 Jan, 1893, in Nacogdoches, TX; d. abt 1929, (thought to have been in Garrison, TX at her last residence.) Almedia D. PULLEN(PULLIN), b. 1873 Basil M. PULLEN (PULLIN), b. 1874. ** There is big question in my own mind if the dates of the STOCKMAN genealogy report are accurate, as my father, Basil Dewey KIMBROUGH, son of Laura PULLIN and Thaddeus Dawsey KIMBROUGH, always said that his mother was middle aged when he was born in 1900, and that was reason she and his dad were so hard on him and his brother, Claiborne. Pictures of Laura and Almedia with Basil Dewey KIMBROUGH taken in 1908 would confirm that both Laura and her sister Almedia were well into middle age at that time. Both Laura and Fadius (we knew him as Thaddeus Dawsey) had previous marriages with ISSUE from both. Basil Dewey recalled that Laura's children from first marriage were grown and away from home by the time he could remember, and he never met them. Thomas Anderson KIMBROUGH, buried in Garrison, was Thaddeus Dawsey's oldest son from his first marriage. In the Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery just at the edge of Garrison, TX you will find four generations of KIMBROUGHS, and Thomas J. HUMPHREYS. Buried next to Thomas J. HUMPHREYS is a grave marked as 'Mrs. Thomas J. HUMPHREYS' with age delineations matching my father's mother 'Laura'. Put it this way....'There's something 'funny' going on here'. No marker for Thaddeus Dawsey KIMBROUGH or Laura Jane KIMBROUGH, both known to have died in 1929 in Garrison, TX. SUPPOSITION: I think Thaddeus died first, was buried, possibly in one of the unmarked graves in the KIMBROUGH section, then Laura was taken to live with her daughter from her first marriage and when died the daughter buried her next to her first husband and left the given names off the stone. This is only SUPPOSITION, but I think, with justification, until I learn otherwise. ================================================ At 05:07 PM 01/07/2000 EST, you wrote: > >Looking for the Family of James Claibourne Norris born in 1829 . 3. What kin is Margaret Amason to JESSE AMASON who donated the land for Center,Texas. Jesse Amason also had a daughter Melissa Amason who married a granddaughter of my Sanders. I am "thinking" at the moment of which Sanders it is. I have not gotten in to my Sanders for awhile. Seems like Melissa and her Sanders husband had a daughter FLETA who married a NORRIS. Fleta SAnders is buried in Fairview Cemetery in Center with her husband and some more Norris' and I think maybe Robert Sanders her father. There are several Robert SAnders in myline. Does any of this ring a bell? \ Annette Sanders Person I joined DRT on my John Sanders person. He is buried at Fairview also. 1. Sorry , Scrambled Norris & Amason Message
    2. Dear Friends sorry I guess my message was scrambled .Will resend ! Dear Evelyn, Well, thisis exciting!; We are cousins! MargaretAnn Amason's (b. 1839-1842 in AL, d. c. 1863 in Nacogdoches Co. TX)father was Matthew Amason (b. c. 1814 in GA, d. c. 1869 in TX, probably Nacogdoches Co.). Margaret's mother was named Louisa (maiden nameunknown). You willfind the family of George &;Amasson&, Margaret's brother, in the1870 census of Nacogdoches Co. TX.&; His wife was Emer Arnold.; In the household is Eliza &;Amosson;, age 59, b. GA.&; I believe Eliza is none other than Louisa Amason, widow of Matthew.&; Rebecca Amosson, the youngest sister, was also in George's HH in 1870.; In 1880, L. Amorson was head of household with R. Amorson, daughter, and ; grandchild L. Amorson, age 4.&; George and Emer must have died before 1880?? ;Somerecord I have, from Nacogdoches Co. TX shows Matthew; Amason present in 1868, but I didn't enter the source in my database....and of course, he is missing in 1870, so I presumed a death date of 1869, but I would behappier if I had entered the source in my database!! Anyway,Matthew was in Nacogdoches County, TX by 1862, two months after he mustered out of a Louisiana C.S.A. unit. Obviously Margaret was in Nacogdoches Co. TX sooner than 1862, since she must have married John Claiborne Norris before 1859, since their first son, John was born by then. That makes me believe that Matthew was in Texas before 1860. Unfortunately,Matthew's family, his brother, Rufus' family and their mother, Elizabeth are missing from 1860 censuses. I have found their brother, Elisha in Monroe Co. AL in 1860 and their sister's family is in Monroe Co. AL in 1860, as well, but Nancy had died by then.; Matthew and Elisha had died by 1870. My 2nd ggrandfather, Rufus, probably also died by then (Rufus is missing in 1870 as well, but his son, my ggrandfather was in Shelby Co. TX in 1870) and Jesse died in 1870.; Three widows can be found in Shelby Co. in 1880: Sarah A. Amason, widow of Jesse, Ara AnnAmason, widow of Elisha and Mary Ann Amason, widow of Rufus. I have allof Matthew's children, but I don't know what happened to all of them,yet...I'm always looking!! These are probable children of Matthew Amason and Louisa (Matthew was awfully young for the earlier children to be his...and I have this theory that they may have been children of his older brother, Washington, whom I've never found in census records...so perhaps Matthew married his brother'swidow??). Some ofthe information below is tentative. ; I know that Matthew had a male child in his household in 1850 named James and that a James W. Amason married Susan Browder (a widow) in Montgomery Co. AL in 1864. Since I don't know of any other James Amason in any Amason HH in Montgomery Co. AL, except Matthew's HH, I have assumed that James W. Amason was same person as James, son of Matthew. Susan E.Amason married Joseph Andres Flores and their family is well documented in census info and in local histories of Nacogdoches Co. TX. Again check out the Amason website....our families are detailed under Descendants of Uriah Amason of Montgomery Co. AL. It isn'tevery day that I find descendants of our particular Amason family, because they are so difficult to follow!! 2. I'm researching the Jones, Clark, Wade, Richardson, Shaw, Greer lines. My mother was a Richardson and my father is a Jones. I've been able to access these records through the Nacogdoches GenWeb and through the library. I'm currently waiting to look at the Veterans list for the war of 1812 and also the Indian Creek Beat in Angelina County. Some of the records I anticipate having to get through the interlibrary loan program. Try this link to access some of the Nacogdoches records in one place without browsing. www.geocities.com/kaepartin/ Alyssa

    2. Hello, I went to the library yesterday as I'm researching my connections to Nacogdoches and I went through the San Augustine Marriage Records of 1837-1880. I believe I saw the volume for Nacogdoches Marriage Records, so if you don't mind a trip to the library your questions might be answered there. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip. Good luck! Happy New Year! Alyssa
