Hi Lisa, Wondered if you might have additional info on Elisha Roberts. My ggg-grandfather is Elisha Roberts, born 1828, was in Clark Co., AL on 1870 census, relocated in 1878 to Angelina Co.; thought there might be some kind of relationship there. Cheryl, Would you be so kind as to ask your mother, Troyce ALLEN, if she has any recollections of a Garrison, TX family: Thadeus D. KIMBROUGH and his wife, Laura Jane PULLIN? I'm attempting to locate their burial site, and have not been very successful. I only know that they were both alive in 1928 (my mother had letter from them in that year) and that Laura died in Garrison in 1929. My visit there in 1999 failed to identify their burial site. Would appreciate your help. Thank you. Norm

Hi Cheryl, I just read this e-mail. I could not find several of my family in the SSDI. I had thier SS numbers from death certificates, funeral records, and Medical records. I copied and pasted a form letter from Ancestery.com and erased the person's name and info on the form and filled in my family members name and info and mailed it to myself. Then I printed it out and mailed it to the SS Dept along with my $7.00 check. I have never failed to get a copy of thier SS Aplication. Not all are on the SSDI, but they are in the SS records. Hi, I will ask my mother Troyce ALLEN b. Nacogdoches, Tx 1923. She's pretty knowledgable of the families there. My grandfather b. 1902 in Nacogdoches had a social sec. card but nothing was ever filed against it even when he died in 1959 in Baton Rouge so he doesn't show up on the SSDI. Cheryl Young
Hello all, I really need help on this one. I'm trying to find my G. G.F. James Pinckney Vaught, who was reported to come from the Nacogdoches area. He had a son, my G.F., James Oscar Vaught-b.Feb.23, 1897-d. Feb.23, 1897 in Shelby county Texas at Center. James Oscar had twelve children and there are alot of Vaught decendants from my grand parents. My grand father and his family lost touch with his father. My grand father told my mother that he had a cousin, Garrett Vaught, who was a sheriff for the town of Nacogdoches, I don't know what years exactly but probably before the 1950's. I would like for anyone that is descended from Garrett or is related to Garrett or has information on Garrett to please E-mail me and let me know what information you have. Also on James Pinckney, I do know that he became a Baptist minister and did attend the Baptist Convention of 1950 at Tyler, TX. If anyone knows how I can find information on James Pinckney through the Baptist convention or association please let me know. I've done a SSDI search on James Pinckney and he is not listed. Since he was a preacher he may have never gotten a SS card. We were told that he was buried at Ore City. I've had look ups for Ore City and the entire county of Upshur and they can't find any Vaught graves. This is my missing brick. We were told that James Pinckney's father was Peter Vaught, but since there are several Peter Vaught's I can't make a connection until I get some dates and better information on James Pinckney. Thank you for your help, Troyce Hendricks

I don't know it if Garrison has a genealogical library. Timpson has their own building, and is building a wonderful little library. I would suggest you consider donating your collection to the Timpson Genealogical Society. They will have the beginnings of a library if you give them the books....
I don't know about Garrison, but Center down the road has a wonderful one. Shelby County Historical Society on Pecan Street. The main Center Library does not have much of anything in the way of genealogy materials. The SCHS has it all. Center is my hometown. I am looking for a home for some Genealogical Book that I am wanting to donated to a small community genealogical library where they will be helpful to those who can't travel to the larger East Texas Research Center. I am downgrading my own personal library and would like to hear from places interested in making home for these book. Does Garrison have a Genealogical Library? Francis: I don't know who Will Dixon's parents were. I do know, however, something about his and Americus' descendents. Americus would be my first cousin twice removed. I didn't know about Bernice but their other daughter Flora Bell DIXON was born May 29, 1905 in Nacogdoches. She married Walter WOODALL (b. Feb 24, 1896 in OK.). Flora Bell and Walter had four children: Flora Marine b. Feb 18, 1928, d. Feb 16, 19888 in Wichita Kansas, Raymond, Harvel, and Walter Era WOODALL, Jr., B. May 7, 1930 in Jackson Co., OK. Flora Marine WOODALL married Junior Ray SCOTT. They had two children, Jerry Wayne and Cher SCOTT. Cher SCOTT married Jerry P. CAMACHO on Sep 25, 1972. Walter Era WOODALL married Doris PYRON Mar 22, 1948 in smith Co., TX. (She was born May 18, 1932 in Smith Co, TX and died Jan 1, 1972 in Dallas Co., TX). Their children were Danny James, b. Nov 13, 1950 in Tarrant Co., TX., Mark Franklin, B. Jul 14, 1957 in Dallas Co., and Timothy Matthew, b. Dec 5, 1959 in Kaufman Co., TX. I received most of this information from the above mentioned Cher SCOTT CAMACHO. If you want information about Americus DORSETT's relatives let me know.
