Thanks to Vera for responding to my query about J.L.Garwood! Just rec'd info from TX Gen Land Office. Can anyone explain this to me? There is a "Certificate" Application to Purchase and a Patent issued to J.L. Garwood for land in Montgomery County. What is the purpose of these records? Also, does anyone know what kind of information may be in the original records as well as the survey? How about Tax records for Montgomery County? Vera sent me lots of information regarding those..are there original documents that might give something more than name and acreage?
