Hi, was wondering if someone on the list who lives in Conroe could tell who owned the store or stores in town in 1934. I found a ledger at an antique shop which seems to be for a store, keeping running tabs of the accounts, it also has some other information in the front such as some prayers, I believe! All through the ledger someone just jotted down something every now and then prayers, directions to places these clients lived ect. I have yet to buy the book since it is so expensive, but was considering it and wanted to find out as much as I could first. Would love to see it returned to the family. It has hundreds of entries for individuals and business and even the County of Montgomery. Some of which are: Humble Station, Montogomery Co Road Crew, Day Lumber & Timber Co.,and the City of Conroe. But I was unable to locate the name of the business who was keeping the ledger. The book does contain some other odds and ends, one of which is a small paper book from a funeral home used to keep record of persons either visiting or sending flowers ect. This book is for a Mr. NA Neely (dont remember the date of death ) who was buried in Derment Cemetery in Derment, Arkansas. Anyway any clues or ideas would be greatly appreciated! Gina McGuire
