    2. Fred G. Burk and his wife Dee Burk were killed in an automobile accident August 7, 2003. Fred was born November 11, 1941, in Comanche, Texas, to Jewell and Willard Burk. He grew up in Conroe, Texas and graduated from Conroe High. He later attended Sam Houston State University. He worked many years in sales for Kraft Foods and Quaker State Corporation. He married Dee Burk on April 10, 1975. They have one daughter, Sarah Meghan Burk, age 19. Fred loved being on or anywhere near the ocean. He enjoyed sharing jokes and political cartoons via the internet. He was a history buff, an avid follower of the stock market, and was the consummate story teller. Fred never met a stranger and will be missed by many friends. Fred is survived by two daughters and a son; his daughter Meghan of Rockport, Texas; his daughter Allison Small and her husband Brad, and their children Sarai and Christopher all of Amarillo, Texas; and his son, Stephen Riggs and his wife Haley of Franklin, Tennessee. He is also survived by his sister, Dyann Scott of The Woodlands, Texas and her children Dena Glaw and Steve Scott. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 11, 2003, at First Baptist Church, Rockport, Texas. Interment will follow at Rockport Cemetery. Esther Bruce Bromley (Dee) Burk was born September 23, 1950, in San Antonio, Texas to Sallie Bromley Kilcullen and First Lieutenant Bruce Bromley. Her father was killed in action in the Korean conflict before her birth. She graduated from Texas Christian University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She received her Masters Degree in Education from the University of Houston in 1978. Dee was a school teacher for 28 years. Dee's lifelong passion was teaching children, especially those with special needs. She married Fred G. Burk on April 10, 1975. They have one daughter, Sarah Meghan Burk, age 19. Dee enjoyed family and friends, playing tennis, a glass of red wine, and sitting on the back porch overlooking the water. She had a huge heart and enjoyed volunteering with the community organizations which supported Meghan's interests. Dee is survived by their daughter, Meghan of Rockport, Texas; her mother, Sallie Kilcullen of Alexandria, Virginia, and one brother Marc Bromley of Atlanta, Georgia and his sons Tyler and Eric. She is also survived by numerous family members in the San Antonio, Texas area. Dee will be missed by many friends and her dogs Buddy and Mandy.
