Membership for Early Settlers of Montgomery County Texas Chairman, Charles & Sue Hereford Must prove direct ancestor was in Montgomery County, Texas prior to December 31, 1861. Any person who is a direct descendant of an individual who settled and lived in an area considered to be Montgomery County, Texas at the time specified for documentation for application of the ancestor may become a member of the Early Settlers of Montgomery County, Texas upon the payment of a $15.00 fee and the acceptance of the application. It is the applicant's responsibility to PROVE lineal descent. This application must first be accepted by the Early Settlers Committee, and then by the Montgomery County Genealogical & Historical Society, Inc.
