    2. I just went down and found this cemetery. The cemetery itself is in good shape, but getting to it is the pits. You have to drive through a dump to get to it. And don't drive in a low vehicle after it has rained. The community is in very bad shape itself, but at least the graves are in tact and kept mowed. Jane Sanford Keppler Conroe, TX

    2. There was a very interesting article in this mornings Conroe Courier. It was about Sweet Rest Cemetery in the Tamina area. This is a black cemetery where slaves and their children are buried. The article is about this cemetery has turned into a dumping ground mainly from construction companies. If time permits, I will try and find it this weekend and maybe we can do something to get it cleaned up. Jane Sanford Keppler Conroe, TX

    3. Good morning from cold and gloomy Northern Calif. I'd be really interested in this topic - but alas - the commute may be a little long? :-))) Could I ask if perhaps Father Hebert would be willing to have the name and other particulars of his book posted on the List, or perhaps the GenWeb site? My THACKER/MORGAN family came to TX from East Feliciana Parish, as far as I can tell, and I'd be interested to know how/why they did that, and any other details. 1. meetings
    2. During our board meeting today, a discussion was brought up about having a couple of our monthly meetings on a weekend instead of our regular Monday nights. I know several of our members don't drive at night and that prevents them from coming. Also, they are great many that live out of county, so a week night is just not feasible for them. So I would like to take a survey and see what some of you think and what would be a good time if we did decide to have it on the weekend. Let me know. thanks Jane Sanford Keppler Conroe, TX
