Application based on service in Lieutenant JOHN J. DALRYMPLE’S Montague County Co. from April 20, 1872 to Oct. 1872. Application approved. After the pension was granted, it was discovered that Wainscott “did not have thirty days actual service in defense of Texas frontier against Indian depredations” and the pension to his widow was terminated. Willingham’s company was a Minute Man unit and served only when needed. It was noted in the application that Wainscott also served “in several campaigns” from 1869 to 1875.

I have that, Cash McDONALD was the son of Cassius "Cash" MCDONALD & Drucilla DAVIS. His father Cash Sr. was brother to Sarah MCDONALD who married John WAINSCOTT and Nancy MCDONALD who married John's brother Daniel WAINSCOTT. Cash Sr., Sarah and Nancy were the Children of Joseph McDONALD and Nancy WILLINGHAM. Not sure if Nancy was kin to Lieu. J. J. WILLINGHAM where Cash McDONALD served. >HIRAM WAINSCOTT >NANCY I. I have that Hiram WAINSCOTT was son of John WAINSCOTT and Nancy (McDonald). He married Nancy I.(Isabel) DENNIS dau of John DENNIS. They are both buried in the Denver Cemetery, Montague Co., TX. I have a lot of Montague County, Texas information that is associated with my TOTTY family on my TOTTY web pages: http://totty-families.org/records/txmontgu.html To see a lot of early 1870 and 1880 information see the Diaries of Rhoda Spradling TOTTY who wrote from May 1876 until her death in Apr 1899, where she gave a lot of information found no where else on families of Montague Co. If interested go to: http://www.totty-families.org/diary/index.html Hope this helps someone in their research.
