Rev. Calvin Springer will officate. Ms. Lang died March 14, in a Houston hospital. She was born Oct. 25, 1915 in Milam County to Joseph and Lena J. (Gilleland) Horton. She was formerly a resident of Los Angeles, CA until October 1980 when she moved to Rockdale then to Houston. Ms. Lang attended the Baptist Church, Oakville School in the Tracy Community through 7th grade then in Rockdale and graduated in 1932 from Rockdale High School. She entered Cameron Hospital in Cameron, July 1, 1935 for nurses training and graduated in 3 years in 1937. As an R.N. she worked in Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth, Providence Hospital in El Paso, took Civil Services exam then worked in the Veterans Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. She had worked as an office nurse and private duty nurse. She was a nurse for 39 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, J. L. “Jake” Horton, William D. “Demp” Horton (Killed in World War II) and Gordon C. Horton. Survivors include, nieces Susan Gillis of Spring, Donna Powers of Cy Fair, Elizabeth Guerra of San Jose, CA; nephew Davis Horton of Houston; five grand nephews and one grand niece.
