Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Friday, March 4, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rockdale with Father Edwin Kagoo of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rockdale officiating. Burial followed in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. A homemaker, she was born Nov. 12, 1923, in Lovelady to Sam and Maria Angela Hernandez. She married Jesse “Jesus” Moreno. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Moreno, on Dec. 29, 1995; her parents; and all of her brothers and sisters. Mrs. Moreno is survived by sons, John Moreno and wife Irma of Rockdale, Simon Moreno of Austin; daughters, Mary Moreno and husband Robert Vasquez of Rockdale, Delores Johnson and husband James of Rockdale; eight grandchildren, Joe Moreno, John Moreno Jr., George Dockery Jr., Andrew Cruz Jr., John Aldama, Jessica Castillo and husband Salvador, Gracie Moreno Macias and husband Adair Sr., and Marisa Moreno; 12 great-grandchildren, Anita and Gabby Moreno, Alicia and Gracie Castillo, Blanca and Erica Aldama, Cora Louise Cruz, Christopher Moreno, Adair Macias, John Jadon Moreno, Anthony Castillo and Salvador Castillo Jr. Pallbearers included Andy Cruz, John Aldama, David Macias, George Dockery Jr., Johnny Hernandez and Jesse DeLeon. Honorary pallbearer was John Moreno Jr.
