Interment followed in Houston National Cemetery with a 21-gun salute and “Taps.” Mr. Ramsey died Wednesday, Feb. 23, after a strong and courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born March 19, 1931. Mr. Ramsey was a Korean War veteran, serving as a sergeant in the U.S. Army until the peace treaty was signed in 1953. He was a printer by trade and retired after 30 years with Cameron Iron Works. Mr. Ramsey was preceded in death by his sister, Deannie Parker, who also struggled with cancer. He is survived by his children, Roni Urbano and husband Andy, Debbie Travis Gina Jatzlau and husband Jeff, Scott Ramsey and wife Rhonda; his “neighborhood kids,” Jimmy Knight, Curtis Knight and Robert LaDue; his grandchildren, Felicia and Tim Everett, Erek Padilla, Adam Ramsey, Stevie Criswell, Wesley Rolan, Dawn and Jason Wyatt, Amie Peltonen and Shelby Ramsey; his great-grandchildren, Ashley, Blake, Candace, Kaylee, Mackenzie, Brandon and Bryce; his brothers, Jerry Ramsey and wife Frances, Marion Ramsey and wife Mickey; also, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Pallbearers were Anthony Morrison, Tim Everett, Erek Padilla, Adam Ramsey, Matt Ramsey and Graham Carmichael.
