Lester, 86, of Rockdale died Saturday, March 5, 2005, in the Kings Daughters Hospital in Temple. Graveside services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale with Rev. Jack Chelf of First Baptist Church in Rockdale officiating. Mrs. Lester was born Sept. 19, 1918, in Ringling, OK, to James Thomas and Susie (Lockwood) Wigham. She married Fred Lester on April 1, 1935, in Ringling, OK. Mrs. Lester, a homemaker, was a member of First Baptist Church in Rockdale. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Fred Lester on Dec. 19, 1995. Survivors include three sons, Doug “Bud” Lester and wife LuAnn of Blythe, CA, Dean Lester and wife Sue of Blythe, CA, Gene Lester and wife Carol of Pearland; two daughters, Mary Alice Stewart and husband Tim of Milano, Gaila Jo Lester of Rockdale; brother, Claude Wigham of Oklahoma City, OK; sister, Mary Frances Hill of Ryan, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers included Jeff Lester, Doug Lester, Dean Lester and Tim Stewart.
