Trish Holland of First Presbyterian Church in Rockdale officiating. Burial followed in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Mr. Jones died Saturday, March 19, in a Temple hospital. A resident of Lexington for the past 34 years, he was born Aug. 30, 1950 in Cameron to Charles Douglas and Roberta (Nuss) Jones. Mr. Jones was a construction worker in the oil field industry and he enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially salt-water and bay fishing. He also enjoyed working with and training horses, cooking barbecue and collecting antiques. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris (Williams) Jones; a son, Joshua Jones; and his horse of 17 years, “Blue.” Survivors are his parents, Charles D. and Roberta Jones of Rockdale; two brothers, Allan Jones and wife Karen of Rockdale and Brian Jones and wife Nancy of New Braunfels; a sister, Beverly Earnst and husband Don of Rockdale; and a grandson, Christian Jones; also, a host of other family members. Pallbearers were Carl Jones, Robert Hammond, Charlie Kirchner, Stanley Ruthven, Larry Reese and Glynn Rolan.
