Funeral services were held 3 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Friendship Methodist Church near Davilla with Mr. James Fowler officiating. He was born June 19, 1918 in Cameron to Homer Cullen and Rosanne (Rice) Pope. Mr. Pope married Bernice Imogene Walker. He was a Methodist and was a retired parts manager for Southland Drilling. He was survived by his wife Bernice Imogene Pope of Victoria; two sons, Marvin Pope of Odem, Clifford Roy Pope of Austin; four daughters, Patsy Ruth Fowler of Schertz, Betty Sue Pittman of Austin, Carolyn Vega of Bakersfield, CA, Barbara Lynn Butler of El Paso; 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers included Phillip Fowler, Karl Fowler, Robert Pope, Brian Pope, Jackie Starnes and Bill Starnes. Memorials may be made to Friendship Methodist Church.
