He was born on Jan. 12, 1954, in Bay City to James Leo Hagaman Sr. and Bertha Jane Genzer Hagaman. He was a retired supervisor for Alcoa at Point Comfort and Rockdale, a former EMT, volunteer firefighter, a member of the Knights of Columbus and a Catholic. He is survived by his wife Bettie Mae Holloway Hagaman of Blessing; his daughter and son-in-law Stacy and Andy Novak of Blessing; his son and daughter-in-law Cody and Marla Hagaman of Aransas Pass; mother-in-law Ruth Holloway of Blessing; sister Teresa West of Bay City; and grandson Dalton James Novak of Blessing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and James L. Hagaman Sr.; his father-in-law Floyd Merdith Holloway and by his brother Samuel Hagaman. Funeral mass was held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 21, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Blessing with Rev. Gary Janak officiating. Interment followed at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing. Pallbearers were Jake Foltyn, W.C. Greenlaw, Bubba Massey, Jim Matthes, Kim Abshire and Randy Kirby. Honorary pallbearers included Joey Cornett, Red Kirby, Wayne Prukop, Trammel Hunter and Tom Navarro.
