Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Little River Baptist Church near Jones Prairie. Burial followed in the Little River Cemetery. Mrs. Pool, a homemaker, was born Jan. 12, 1911 in Maysfield to Otis and Emma (Blasienz) Franklin. She married Wilson Pool and he preceded her in death in 1981. She was a member of the Little River Baptist Church where she had served as a children’s Sunday School teacher. One sister and five brothers also preceded her in death. Survivors include daughter, Charlotte Askew and husband James of Jones Prairie; son, W. W. (Sonny) Pool Jr. and wife Mary of Beaumont; brother, Roy Lee Franklin of Bryan; sisters, Florine Casey of Cameron, Ludie McCleary of Lake Jackson; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and friends. Memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
