Callaway, 87, of Cameron died Sept. 23 in a Temple hospital. The Rev. William Angel and Chaplain Ralph McCulloh will officiate at his funeral 10 a.m. Thursday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron. Callaway was born in Mumford to Lonnie and Mamie (Taylor) Callaway. He attended school in Mumford and Hearne, graduating from Hearne High School. He attended Meadow's College in Shreveport, LA. Callaway was employed by Milam Candy Co. in Cameron and McLane Co. in Cameron and Temple retiring after 50 years with the McLane Co. He was an active member of the First Christian Church in Cameron where he served as an elder and teacher of an adult Sunday School class. He is survived by his wife Bonnelle Callaway of Cameron and daughter Jane Ada Callaway of Cameron.
