Pelzel, 85, of Thorndale died Sept. 18 at her residence. The Rev. James Mann officiated at a celebration of life service Sept. 21 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale. Burial followed at the Taylor Cemetery. Pelzel was born March 20, 1917 in Thorndale to Walter and Bertha (Eitze) Wuensche. She married John R. Pelzel on Aug. 31, 1936 in Milam County. Her family said she was a wonderful mother and grandmother, a hard worker and an avid gardener. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers Sammy and Ray Wuensche; and son Walter Pelzel. She is survived by her sons John L. Pelzel and wife, Dolores and David Pelzel all of Thorndale; daughters Allyne Marie Gustafson of Austin and Margaret Pelzel of Temple; brothers Mickey Wuensche and wife Opal of Austin and Roy Wuensche of Thorndale; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
