Surnames: Roberts, Richards, Richardson Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hkB.2ACE/5447 Message Board Post: Rockdale Reporter, Thur., 12 Sept 2002 Richards Services for Jo Anne (Roberts) Richards, 62, of Rockdale were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home with Elder Dale Owens Jr. of Jehovah’s Witnesses’ Kingdom Hall in Cameron officiating Mrs. Richards died Friday, Sept. 6, in a Bryan hospital. A Rockdale resident since July 14, 1979, she was born Aug. 27, 1940, in Brookville, IN, to George B. and Gayle (Richardson) Roberts. She was raised in San Bernardino, CA, and she married Jerry C. Richards on Aug. 26, 1981, in Rockdale. Mrs. Richards had been a beautician since 1992 and in 1998 she opened and operated a beauty shop in Minerva until her death. She attended Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Cameron and she enjoyed travelling, having travelled all over the world. She spent hours at the local library reading and doing research for her travels. Preceding her in death were her parents. Survivors are her husband, Jerry C. Richards of Rockdale; three sons, Daniel Ray Stidham of California, Russel C. Stidham of California and Jared N. Dodds of San Antonio; two daughters, Diana Gayle Hamby of Las Vegas and Jeri Glaser of Cameron; a brother, David Bennitt Roberts of Temple; two sisters, Patricia Kruck of Houston and Peggy Kellar of Fresno, CA; also, 8 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library, 201 Ackerman, Rockdale, TX 76567.
