A graveside service was held Aug. 28 at the Little River Cemetery near Jones Prairie with the Rev. Carl Hudon officiating. Barrett was born Jan. 4, 1911 in Hamilton County to William Taylor and Pearl Munday Barrett. He married Pauline Smith in 1937 and eventually retired from Santa Fe Railroad where he'd worked as a cashier. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Orange County, Calif. He is survived by his wife Pauline Barrett of Cameron; daughter Carolyn Lister of Cameron and sisters Inez Williams and Ruby Folkers of California.
