Services were held Nov. 23 at Cameron Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. E. Ross and the Rev. O.J. Naylor officiating. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery. He was born Nov. 16, 1941 in Cameron to Steve and Sylvia Taplin. He was a truck driver for McLane Southwest Wholesale Distribution. He is survived by his mother; wife Ruby Nell Taplin; son Thomas Earl Taplin of Rockdale; sisters Bertha B. Canady & Rebecca I. Cavanaugh of Temple; half-brother Olehue Taplin of Los Angeles, CA; and nine grandchildren.
