Deceased was for many years a citizen of Milam county and for the last 10-years he resided in Cameron. Dr. Smith was once sheriff of Washington county and was a large land owner there. His wife and two children survive him, Mrs. Mattie Lott of Navasota and Mrs. John L. Peeler of Austin.
