    1. [TXMILAM] o.a. Bowen or d.a. bowen? milam tx
    2. hello all, (see newspaper account below)Thanks for the posting I am thinking this O.A. Bowen is the same fellow that married amelia louisa dodd and lost her in child birth?--i have found the O.A. Bowen again in milam records--he worked at a grocery/ dry goods store as a young man in Milam. I believe the D.A. Bowen is the same man as-O.A .BOWEN. The newspaper account DOES show that the child Mary BOWEN, the surviving infant of amelia dodd bowen--did have a father who stayed around Milam co. and married again and raised a family. We do not know who raised Mary L. Bowen and have thought it was her aunt Synthia Dodd Grabener-who was a nursing mother when the infant was left motherless? Especially knowing that Mary wed her first cousin-oldest son charles of theo and synthia elizabeth grabener. In our records we do not find this young woman in a household until 1880 living in the household of her uncle Louis taylor dodd with her grandma Lucy Cave Dodd Autry, her aunt victoria and some cousins. And in the scheme of relationships: this young woman( see below) who married-1903- would have been half sister to mary louise bowen grabener (first wife of charles grabener and who also died in childbirth-like her mother). The BOWEN poppa named one child, mary louise and the other Lucile. Cameron Herald, Thur., 1 Oct 1903 - Supplement Elopement - following special from Rockdale, Sept. 25, appeared in the Waco Times-Herald of last Saturday - Miss Lucile Bowen, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. O. A. Bowen and Kenneth King, formerly a resident here but now of St. Louis eloped last night. At 10 p.m., Rev. W. E. Copeland married the couple at his home and the couple is now on their way to St. Louis.
