    2. 1. If James Hairston married Martha Louisa Dodd in 1874, then the three oldest children are Mollie's. So putting together what we have been told-no documents to support this--word of mouth : Children of James J. and Mollie (Cave) Hairston(-daughter of Henry Cave and Nancy Bass) i. Ann b. 1868 ii. Martha b. 1871 iii. Richard b. 1872, his son named James Loy Hairston Children of James J. and Martha (Dodd) Walden Hairston: i. Henry R. Hairston b. 1876 m. Fanny R. Dukes ii. John I or L. Hairston b. 1877 iii. Minnie Hairston b. 1882 iv. James N. Hairston v. Sussie Hairston b. 1890 vi. Alma L. Hairston b. 1894 Fill this in please--if you have more or better info. 2. Here's the 1880 census. There is a 14 year old Walden. I haven't seen the documentation of Martha being Martha Walden--I guess there is a marriage license?. If so, then Thomas is Martha's step-son or Martha's brother-in-law. Interesting. Since Walden is dead in this scenerio, our bet is Thomas is step-son?. Oh well any ideas?. Hairston? We are extremely interested -as we were unaware of such a union. (2.)We would like any contact with the children of martha louisa( DODD) HAIRSTON (or Walden?) as they are cousins to the Milam Co.
