Sowders, 69, of Milano was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2006, at San Saba City Cemetery in San Saba with Pastor Wayne Kirk of Marlow Baptist Church officiating. Mr. Sowders died Sunday, June 4, at Central Texas Hospital in Cameron. He was born June 4, 1937, in San Saba to Edward and Frances Louise (Taylor) Sowders. At the age of 8, he moved from San Saba to Corpus Christi, then to Milano in 1969, where he resided for the past 37 years. Mr. Sowders was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew, Ricky Lynn Sowders, in 1968; a great-nephew, Edward Wayne Sowders, in 1991; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Sowders, in 2000. Survivors are two brothers, Gerald Sowders of Milano, Don Sowders and wife Jeannette of Bowman, Georgia; also, 10 nieces and nephews, a number of great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
