Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Friday, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home with Rev. James Lafferty officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Edmonds was born Sept. 5, 1916 in Chriesman to George and Cora (Smith) Mabry. She married Benjamin Edmonds in 1935 and he preceded her in death in 1991. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and she had worked in the office of Dr. Sidney Richardson in Cameron. Five brothers and one sister also preceded her in death. Son-in-law, Robert Mercer, Jr. also preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Mercer of Waco and Bobbye Ficke of West; son, Paul Edmonds and wife Nancy of Austin; two sisters, Judy White of Seguin and Virgie Mae Barron of The Woodlands; three grandchildren, Jan Mercer Magid and husband Lance of Waco, Brian Ficke and wife Sharon of West and Brad Ficke and wife Jennifer of Kingville; two great-grandchildern, Gibson Ficke and Mackenzie Ficke.
