Kainer, 88, of Brownwood were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in High Hill at 1 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2006. Interment was in the church cemetery. A parish rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home. Mrs. Kainer died Wednesday, May 24, in Brownwood Regional Hospital. She was born Feb. 8, 1918, in High Hill to the late Emil and Emilie (Blaschke) Demel. She married Alfons Kainer on Nov. 16, 1943, in Schulenburg. Mrs. Kainer worked for BB Foods in Schulenburg for many years and later worked as a nurse’s aide for the nursing home in Schulenburg. She was a Catholic and a resident of Brownwood since 1995. Mrs. Kainer was preceded in death by her husband, Alfons Kainer, on Nov. 23, 2005; her parents, her stepmother, a brother, a sister and a great-grandson. Survivors include four daughters, Clementine Lampe and husband John of Fort Worth, Pat Barcak and husband Willie of Rockdale, Valeria Davis and husband Harold of Early, Barbara Sager and husband Donald of League City; a son, Alfons Kainer Jr. of Houston; also, three sisters, a brother, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
