Martin, 78, of Temple died Sept. 10 in a Temple Living Center. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Buckholts with pastor Gary L. Kleypas officiating. His body is being donated to medical research. Martin was born in Terrell to Claudie Lloyd Martin and Lovie Kay Clemmons Martin. He served in the US Army for 10 years during the Korean War. He moved to the Buckholts-Cameron area about 10 years ago. He worked in and owned a heavy equipment backhoe and bulldozer service. He was retired. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claudie Lloyd Martin and Lovie Kay Clemmons Martin and brother, Bill Martin. Survivors include his wife, Pat Martin of Temple; son, Jimmy Martin and wife, Lori, of San Angelo; step-son, Scott Gresak and wife, Linda, of The Woodlands; step-daughter, Tammy Spink and husband, Steven, of Cameron; sister, Ann Melcer and brother-in-law, Johnny Melcer, both of Crosby; sister, Mary Vrana and brother-in-law, Ernest Vrana, both of Dayton; sister, Shirley Tobis and brother-in-law, Toby Tobis, both of Channelview; grandchildren, Christopher Martin and wife, Rachell; William Martin; Matthew Martin; Kaylan Spink; Lauren Gresak; Ashlyn Spink and Marly Spink. The family requests no flowers but donations may be made to Hope Lutheran Church of Buckholts or to cancer research.
