Parker, 85, of College Station and formerly of Cameron, died Sept. 4 in College Station. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Knobb Springs Cemetery in Lee County led by Wilbern Patterson of Hilltop Lakes. Parker was born Oct. 23, 1920 in Pendleton to J. D. and Daisy (Dye) Parker. He graduated from Caldwell High School and Texas Chiropractic College in San Antonio. He started his practice in Stratford and then moved to Cameron and then moved to Bryan-College Station where he practiced for 32 years. He retired in 1996. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. During his time in the service, he was an Operating Room Technician. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was also a member of the 1939 championship football team at Caldwell High School. Parker was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Jean Parker; his parents and siblings. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Nelda and Stanley Sommers of Bryan; sons, David W. and Shawn A. Parker, both of College Station; granddaughter, Dr. Anissa Reagor and her husband, Tommy, of Cedar Park and grandson, Kris Sommers and his wife, Courtney, of Brenham. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 West 26th Street, Bryan TX 77803.
