Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with the Rev. Jimmy Sanders of Gause Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Mrs. Knight was born Oct. 1, 1954 in Cameron to Alex William Kornegay and Margie Marie Shafer. She married George Ray Knight, Sr. on Dec. 9, 1974 in Cameron. She was a resident of Franklin for the past 10 years and formerly of Milano. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Hearne. She was preceded in death by her father, Alex William Kornegay. Survivors include her husband, George Ray Knight, Sr. of Franklin; son, George Ray Knight, Jr. of Franklin; mother, Margie M. Kornegay of the Hanover Community; three daughters, Gwen Knight of Austin, Sharon Ybarra and husband Jeremiah Sr. of Bremond and Tiffanny Knight of Franklin; two brothers, Michael Kornegay of The Woodlands and Gary Kornegay of the Hanover Community; three sisters, Margrett Brashear of Hutto, Patricia Shaw of Gause and Cheryl Stewart of Milano; eight grandchildren, Whitney Buckholt, Savannah Clark, George Robert Knight, Randall Buckholt, Jr., Katie Knight, Jeremiah Ybarra Jr., Madelynn Ybarra and Caleb G. Knight. Pallbearers included Jeremiah Ybarra Sr., Tom Overturf, Richard Benham, Clint Shaw, Owen Knight, Walter Brown, III, Douglas Stewart, Lucas Roach and Chris Brashear. Honorary pallbearers were Matthew Thurman, Andrew Thurman, Grant Brashear, Michael Stewart and Larry Roach.
