Stover, 72, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006 at John’s Community Hospital in Taylor. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8 at Lexington United Methodist Church in Lexington with Rev. Linda O’Neal officiating. Burial followed in the Lexington Cemetery. He was born July 21, 1934 in Iraan to Luther B. and Myrtle (Coleman) Stover. He married Cherry Reynolds on Jan. 28, 1956 in San Marcos. Mr. Stover, a resident of Lexington for the past 14 years and formally of Midland. He was a retired drilling supervisor. He worked for Chevron/Amoco and then for Triton Engingeering. He was also a member of Lexington United Methodist Church. Mr. Stover was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Norma Lyles. Survivors include his wife, Cherry Stover of Lexington; two sons, Dempsey Stover of Madisonville and Stacey Stover of Charles City, VA; daughter, Teri Munn and husband Jeff of Midland; brother, Luther B. Stover and wife Betty of Madisonville; six grandchildren, Jeremey Stover and wife Lyndsey, Jamey Newton and husband Noah, Jenifer Hopper, Jared Hopper, Josey Stover and Dylan Stover. Pallbearers included Buster Dickey, Norris Wallin, Red Roe, Al Theriot, Sleepy Simpson and Bob Donbroski. Memorials may be made to Lexington United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 116, Lexington, TX 78947.
