Funeral services were held Sept. 8 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland with the Rev. K. C. Blackketter officiating. A private family interment followed. Walston was born Aug. 7, 1925 in Cameron to Ernest and Martha Walston. He attended school in Cameron and graduated in 1943. He served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946. He married Julia Faye Watson in Carlsbad, NM on Aug. 9, 1952. He worked for Rowan Corporation as an operations manager for 35 years. He was preceded in death by grandson, Travis Walston; his parents and brother, Delbert Walston. Survivors include his wife, Julia Faye Walston of Midland; daughters, Janice Walston of Katy and Sharon Wilson and husband, Warren, of Midland; son, E. H. "Trip" Walston and wife, Pauline, of Paradise, CA; sister, Clydell Dusek of Temple; grandchildren, Faith Colopy, Paige Horelica, Amber Copeland, Dane Walston, Tamara Wilson and Kyle Wilson; great grandchildren, Camdyn, Anyston, Berkley and Rowan Colopy and Peyton Copeland. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to Kind Keepers, 2004 Missouri, Midland, Tx 79701.
