Funeral serives were held 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18 at Mims Baptist Church in Conroe with Rev. Gene Kendrick of Mims Baptist Church in Conroe officiating. Burial was at 4:30 Monday, Sept. 18 at Hugh Wilson Cemetery at Tanglewood. Mrs. Curlee was born Nov. 26, 1916 in Muldoon to Lawson and Nannie (Braddock) Willeford. She married Shelby H. Curlee on June 27, 1937 in Houston. She had worked as Rockdale Chamber of Commerce Manager, worked in real estate in LaGrange for several years and for Superior Oil Co. in Conroe. Mrs. Curlee was a resident of Conroe for over 20 years and a member of Mims Baptist Church in Conroe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelby Curlee on Jan. 23, 1987; son, Shelby Harold Curlee, Sr. on Aug. 7, 1998; grandson, Rick Pearce. Survivors include daughter, Jan Pearce and husband Fred of Montgomery; three grandchildren, Sam Pearce and wife Stephanie, Melissa Thomas and Shelby Curlee and wife Ame; six great-grandchildren, Samuel, Stephen and Shelby Pearce, Cody and Cheyenne Thomas and Jaxon Curlee.
