Garrett Funeral services for Thomas Walter Garrett, 83, of 105 Ennis, Bryan, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home. The Rev. U. S. Lucky of New Caney Baptist Church will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Alvin Robinson of Calvary Baptist Church. A Bryan resident since 1944, the retired farmer died Thursday night at this home. He was born June 6, 1880, in Mississippi and had lived in Milam County prior to moving to Bryan. Member of the Clarkson Baptist Church, Milam county, he is survived by his wife, Cora (Williams) Garrett of Bryan; two daughters, Mrs. Leola Todd of Bryan and Mrs. Vera Hauk of Cameron; five sons, Henry, Pete and Bob of Bryan, John of Fort Worth and Roy of Victoria; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Wingo of Fort Worth and Mrs. Bertie Wheeler of Houston; 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Rest-Ever Memorial Park with grandsons, Paul, Jimmy, Billy and Johnny Hauk, Donald Garrett and Robert Todd serving as pallbearers.
