Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Jim Lafferty officiating. Burial followed in Sharp Cemetery near Cameron. Mr. Hanke died Thursday in a Rockdale nursing facility. He was born April 17, 1914, in the Sharp community to Johan and Mary Pfannstiel Hanke. A lifelong farmer and rancher, Mr. Hanke also did radio and television repair as a hobby. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps, serving as a crew chief operator for C-47s. Preceding him in death was his wife, Mary Louise Fick Hanke, in 1989. Survivors are a son, Joe T. Hanke and wife Abbie of Cameron; also, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
