He was a native of this county and had been in the grocery business in Thorndale for about 5-years. When he was quite small, his father [F. Y. Norman], then constable for Beat 5, was murdered while attempting to make an arrest and for years he was the sole support for his widowed mother and the younger children. He was married to Miss Fannie Williamson who with two children, one a boy age about 20-months, survive him. He was a Woodsman of the World and a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows. The body was taken to Lilac and he was buried next to his father who preceded him 16-years ago. [very lengthy article]
