Miller died at his home in Gonzales on Thursday morning of last week served in the Confederate army as a member of Terry’s Texas Rangers from the beginning of our great civil war until its close. He was born in Tennessee in 1832 and came to Texas during his early life. After the war, he was active in business and banking. He was a Mason and was elected Grand Master in 1873. He served his district in the 48th Congress and 49th Congress, declining to accept a third-term.
