Surnames: Cotten, Harvey, Chaddock Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hkB.2ACE/5602 Message Board Post: Rockdale Reporter, Thur., 14 Nov 2002 Cotten Funeral services for Robert Franklin Cotten, 91, were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002 at First Baptist Church in Rockdale with Raymond Wooten (son-in-law) of Nacogdoches officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale. He died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002 in the Rock Haven Nursing Home in Nacogdoches. Mr. Cotten of Nacogdoches, formerly of Rockdale 1929 to 1942, moved to Bellville in 1964 and Nacogdoches in 1996. He was born Oct. 16, 1911 in Rockdale to Aaron and Mozella (Harvey) Cotten. Mr. Cotten and Bertie Chaddock were married June 20, 1929 in Cameron by Judge Lewis. A boilermaker, pipe fitter and welder, he retired in 1965. He had also worked as a framing contractor between boiler jobs. Mr. Cotten was a member of Boilermakers Union Local #74 in Houston for over 55 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Bellville. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward Cotton; sisters, Trinie Ardoin and Opal Moreland; grandsons, Carol Wayne Cotton and Chase Cotton. Surviving are: Wife, Bertie Cotten of Nacogdoches; sons, Bob Cotton of Katy, Johnny Cotton of Bryan and Charles Cotton of Houston; daughters, Mary Zinn of Caldwell and Flo Wooten of Nacogdoches; brother, Charlie Cotton of Houston; 20 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were David Zinn Jr., Troy Wooton, Ricky Cotton, Michael Cotton, Cory Cotton and Charlie Cotton. Honorary pallbearers were Terry Zinn, Bobby Cotton Jr., Kenneth Wooten and Chris Krolczyk.
