Franzl, 81, of Temple, formerly of Round Rock, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Austin with Rev. David Alwine officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery in Waco. Mr. Franzl died Sunday in a Temple nursing facility. Mr. Franzl retired to Round Rock in 1988. He was married to Betty Caperton Bowman on Feb. 19, 1977, by Rev. Milton Brown at the Episcopal Church, Diocese of West Texas, in San Antonio. Survivors are his wife, Betty Franzl of Temple; six daughters, Roberta Louise Franzl of Fairview, New Jersey, Lynne Gertrude Franzl Contreras of San Bernardino, California, Annie Bowman Melton of Dallas, Betsy Bowman Davis of Sharp, Mary Bowman Michelic of Shinnston, West Virginia, and Laura Bowman Rochelle of Killeen; two sons, George W. Bowman of Cameron and Jim E. Bowman of Dallas; also, 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Special Music Program, Austin, Texas.
