,Hello milam mailing list: this letter from a deceased cousin, lynette schroeder. It is about the williams family of hers. We tried to connect my butler co. alabama williams to hers--and never made the connect. judy grimes --------------------from old letter of lynette schroeder---------------- note thatBerrien Williams married Mahala Jane Bankston, his second wife, and theirfirst child was Nancy Elmina who married Ben Kilpatrick, first, and secondly, she married Williams L. Booth. This is the Booth daughter Mahala was staying with when she died. I have a group shot of the Booths, but do not remember if Mahala is amongst them. This particular Berrian Williams' father was also namced Berrien Williams and he was married to a Nancy Moore from GA.Where does your Moore family come from, or what were their names. The Hal and Ivie Williams at Sand Grove are my grandfather's brother and wife. Mahala Dodd's husband, Berrien Williams is buried out at Mount Homer, down behind Chrisman, between Milanoand Caldwell. (we used to call it the William-Watson cemetery). What is your Williams connection? It was not the Berrien Williams, was it? I need to check out James David Walker's sites and see what else he has about Milam county. My old aunt, Hal Williams sister, was the first white baby born in Rockdale, but not all Milam County. My Milam county people besides theWilliams are Whited, Warren, Watson, to name a few. Do you have any ofthose? Good luck on your research. -------------------------
