The Rev. John Knight officiated at her funeral Nov. 16 and burial followed in Highland Cemetery in Junction City, KS. Hammond was born in Cameron on April 10, 1919 to Grant and Susie Emerson Crummer. She married Harold A. Hammond Sr. Feb. 8, 1944 in Cameron and she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of God, AARP and NARFE. She served on the election board for over 20 years and as the President of the Usher Association at the Church of God where she also served as an usher. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1987 and son Harold Hammond Jr. in 1984. She is survived by daughters Joyce Hammond-Perry of Kansas City, MO and Linda Hammond of Topeka, KS.; sisters Minnie Crummer and Eva Lee Brooks, both of Cameron and two grandchildren.
