Norris, my great grandfather, is buried in Powers Chapel Cemetery at Rosebud, Falls County, Texas. His marker was provided by the CSA. He died in 1885. His son, Thomas Jefferson Norris, was born in Alabama in 1857 and died of scarlet fever in Viesca, Falls County, Texas in 1903. Viesca was a settlement/village near Rosebud, Texas. It no longer exists. Thomas' wife, Salomie Josephine Chandler Norris, born 21 December 1860 and died in the Brazos River flood on 01 July 1899. Great grandpa Norris, great uncle Thomas, great aunt Josephine and my grandpa, James Oliver Norris are all buried in Powers Chapel Cemetery. I will scan and forward photos of their graves. Thomas and Oliver were brothers. Although we have never found a grave marker for great grandma Milly (Amelia Scarborough Norris), we believe she is buried next to great grandpa Norris.
