James K. Mann officiating. Burial was in Davilla Cemetery in Davilla. Mrs. Cargill died Wednesday, May 11, in a Round Rock care center. A homemaker, she was born April 8, 1920, in Williamson County to Walter William and Nancy Edna (Davis) Harp. She married William Jacob Cargill on July 31, 1938, in the Assembly of God Church in Davilla. Mrs. Cargill was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Jacob Cargill, on Dec. 5, 1971; two grandchildren, Vernon Ellington Jr. and Becky Cargill; five sisters, Dovie Sales, Frances Parker, Edna Gould, Viola Johnson and Lillian Cargill; a brother, Junior Harp; and a daughter-in-law, Vickie Cargill. Survivors are three sons, William Cargill Jr. of Thorndale, Jimmy Cargill and wife Gracie of Thorndale, and Jerry Cargill and wife Brenda of Davilla; four daughters, Doris Ellington and husband Vernon of Rockdale, Velma Cargill Zajicek and husband Jack of Round Rock, Melba Joy Sumner of Beaukiss, and Beverly Ann Cargill of Durham, NC; and a sister, Daisy Copeland of Danville; also, 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were grandsons Jeff Zajicek, William Cargill, Michael Cargill, Clayton Cargill, Russell Ellington, Heath Cargill and Bo Cargill.
