Leshikar, 76, of Taylor died Tuesday, May 10, 2005 with her children at her side. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Martin Doering officiating. Burial followed at Taylor City Cemetery. Mrs. Leshikar was born Nov. 21, 1929 in Coupland to John August and Lanora (Eschberger) Kreidel. She was one of three children. She attended Coupland schools. On April 30, 1946 she married Edwin Clyde Leshikar of Taylor. She received her Vocational Nursing License at Swanson Hospital in Taylor. She practiced her nursing career at the Taylor hospital and the Rockdale Clinic and Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale.   Mrs. Leshikar was active in church, VFW Women’s Auxiliary, VA Hospital Volunteer, and was a nursing home volunteer. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 54 years, Edwin C. Leshikar on May 12, 2000. Surivors include two daughters, Barbara Carter and husband Dalton of Austin and Debora Carter of Taylor; son, Philip Leshikar and wife Ann of Rockdale; seven grandchildren, Charleen Adair, Catherine Rodrigue, Nathan Carter, Christopher Carter, Brody Leshikar, Jordan Leshikar and Shelby Leshikar; five great-grandchildren, Emma Rodrigue, Jack Rodrigue, Kayla Adair, Shawn Adair, and Erwin Carter. Pallbearers were Mike Adair, Pat Rodrigue, Chris Carter, Nathan Carter, Brody Leshikar, Shelby Leshikar and Jordan Leshikar.
