Funeral services were to be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Doug Springer officiating. Burial will be in the Sand Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Lewis, housewife and an avid gardener, was born Jan 2, 1930 in Milano to Aubrey and Maudie Fay (Mauldin) Coldiron. She and Earl Ray Lewis were married on Sept. 20, 1963, at First Baptist Church of Milano. For the past six years Mrs. Lewis served as president for the Milano VFD Auxiliary. She served on the Texas Sesquicentennial Committee for Milano. She also won numerous awards for her outside Christmas decorations. She bowled in leagues in Cameron and in Rockdale for 20 years. Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Linda Joyce Ragan, and a brother, Grady Coldiron. Survivors include her husband, Earl Ray Lewis of Milano; two sons, Loyd Dene Ragan and wife Gloria of Calvert and John Wayne Ragan and wife Ginny of Grand Falls; two step-sons Ray Griffth and wife Kay Lynn of Ft. Stockton and Kenneth Griffith of Lago Vista; daughter Connie Sue Sellke of Rockdale; three sisters Theresa Smith of Austin, Nellie Ryan of Milano and Frankie Hill of Milano; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and two dear friends, Thurla Hubert and Lois Love, both of Milano. Pallbearers were Bobby Coldiron, Jesse Love, Ted Hubert, Rodney Coldiron, L.D. Whilhite and Glenn Mauldin.
