He was born September 12, 1931 in Rockdale, Texas to his parents, the late Dolph D., Sr., and Blanche Franklin Horton. He was a barber for 50 years in the family business in Galena Park, Texas and more recently in the North Shore area. For over 40 years he was a member of the Lions Club International. He served in the 36th Division of the Texas National Guard. In his retirement he enjoyed woodworking. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Kathrene, daughter Johnene Horton, daughter Kathlene Reeves and her husband Steve Reeves and the light of his life grand-daughter Brittney Nichole White. He is also survived by sister Donna Shuptrine and family; brother Russell Horton and family; the family of deceased brother D.D. Horton, Jr. and a number of cousins, other relatives and a host of friends. He was a wonderful husband, father, friend, family man and volunteer who will be dearly missed by all whose lives were touched by his. Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27 at Holy Trinity Methodist Church, 13207 Orleans, Houston with graveside services to follow at 4:00 p.m. in Antioch Cemetery, Center, Texas. Both services conducted by Rev. Richard L. Hume.
