Macon Jr. Donald L. Macon Jr., 73, formerly of Cameron died Sept. 19. His funeral was Sept. 23 and interment followed at Brookside Memorial Park in Houston. He was born, June 29, 1929, to Kathryn and D.L. Macon Sr. He was drafted into the US Army when he was 18. He operated the Cameron Courts motel which was built in Cameron in 1929 and owned by his parents. In 1991 he retired from Rainbow Bakery Co. with over 40 years of service. He is survived by his wife 42 years, Mary Macon; mother, Kathryn Matula; son, Donald L. Macon III; grandchildren, Ryan Austin, Corey James, Tyler Sean Macon; and sister, Barbara Reese.
