Walter Matus officiating. Burial followed in Saints Cyril & Methodius Cemetery. Mr. Vansa died Thursday, Oct. 17, in a Cameron nursing facility. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, 2002, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. A lifelong farmer, he was born Sept. 3, 1907, in Flatonia to John and Anna Kalina Vansa. He married Louise Sustek on April 17, 1928. Mr. Vansa was a member of Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Marak. Preceding him in death were a son, Joe Frank Vansa, on June 23, 1936; two brothers, John Vansa and Louis Vansa; and a sister, Marie Vansa. Survivors are his wife, Louise Vansa of Marak; three sons, Alfred Vansa of Marak, Eugene Vansa of Cameron and Billy Vansa of Temple; three daughters, Dorothy Mueck of Cameron, Evelyn Bravenec of Seaton and Margie Sommer of Humble; and a brother, Joe Vansa of Marak; also, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
